This week is Maygen Smith a D1 runner & student athlete at Texas Tech, she is also pursuing occupational therapy. It’s always great to see other people thriving.

1. WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE SOMEONE STARTING OUT?

When starting out it will be very challenging, but you have to roll with the ups and downs. I also will advise to build your relationship with God. My sophomore year I was baptized and I never regretted it.

2. WHAT THINGS INSPIRE YOUR PROCESS?

My family inspired my process! They always had faith in me even whenever I did not have faith in myself. Also God, my coach always said God did not put us here to be average. I truly believe this. Thanks Coach Kittely!

3. WHO ARE THREE PEOPLE YOU LOOK UP TO OR INSPIRE YOU?

The three people that inspire my journey were my parents (Dexter and Toya Smith), my friends from high school and college, and also my older brother. In high school I did an interview saying he was my motivation on the track and in life. My brother Dexter Smith Jr. has autism. I think like if he can’t do it, then I have to do it!
