Slash
Slash aka Saul Hudson is the lead guitarist of the rock band Guns and Roses, you may not know him as the guy with the top hat with curly hair underneath, sunglasses adorned on his face , & a nose piercing as well once you know the guy from seeing him, you find out he rips and melts faces with his guitar skills.
Gary Clark Jr
Gary Lee Clark Jr. is a musician from Austin, Texas. The Texas native was up and down 6th street at a young age & cut his teeth as a guitarist in the live music scene of the same city. He’s put out several projects in his career & I remember seeing him perform on PBS in the White House when Obama was president, either way he’s still a phenomenal talent.
Carlos Santana
The guitarist of the band Santana Carlos is a bad man with a guitar and the band was super popular in the 60’s & 70’s, however the thing that comes to mind is the album Supernatural which included the song “Maria Maria”or the songs “Oye Como Va” or “Smooth” with Rob Thomas . It infuriated me when DJ Khalid decided to sample Maria Maria to make Wild Thoughts which was unnecessary on so many levels but I digress because the guy that made “Black Magic Woman” was a skilled guy & still is with a guitar .
Jimi Hendrix
James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix was a native of Washington specifically Seattle & is widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in history and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century,in simple terms he was & still an OG as a guitarist when he was alive. He died before turning 28 (which hit homes) but he did a lot in his time while he was alive like doing Woodstock, playing the national anthem, lighting his guitar on fire, played in a different position and so much more.
Stevie Ray Vaughn Jr.
Stevie was another great American musician and is noted in the revival of blues in the 1980s. He is commonly referred to as one of the greatest guitar players of all time. The Dallas native was one of the phenomenal guitarist & it leaves a bunch of hypotheticals with his death in a helicopter like Selena, Aaliyah, or even Jimi. Even though he’s gone he left behind several works.
6th Man
Jimmie Fallon
This on is a curve ball to most however before he was the host on the tonight show on NBC he was a talented guitarist and even played on SNL when he was on there. The thing that comes to mind when he did the troll doll auditions bit.
